If you'll allow me a lapse into stat-speak for a moment - this is running at 50fps on a GeForce 8800 GTS at 1680x1050, with the HDR tweak enabled (add -DEVMODE "r_hdrrendering 7" to your Far Cry shortcut, though you'll need to turn off anti-aliasing). Perhaps more importantly, it runs beautifully. OK, it's not quite Crysis-level but it makes a damned good try at it. The results are incredible:Īctual, honest to god screenshot. The Delta Sector is both a single and multiplayer mod, but its main goal - and its greatest accomplishment - is to squeeze every last drop of pixel-juice out of Crytek's now-aged first engine.
FAR CRY 1 MODS MODS
So it's great to see one finally make it out the door (though worth noting we've had two other splendid FC mods in the last year.) Half-Life proved a more suitable mod-foundation, and any number of mooted Far Cry efforts didn't make it far past the drawing board. Its paint-like world-building tool appeared joyously easy to use, and its incredi-graphics seemed malleable to all sorts of visual experimentation. The upgrades can be costly over time, but since gunplay is central to making your way through Far Cry 6, a little modification can go a long way.Once upon a time, Far Cry was the great hope of modders everywhere. If you experiment with weapon mods, you can fine-tune weapons you like without having to constantly switch to every shiny new gun you find. For sniper rifles, you have multiple scopes that offer varying viewing ranges to line up shots from different distances. These mods can turn your guns into accurate close-range weapons or deadly long-range shooters. The optical socket has a selection of different sights. Different suppressors can change how loud your gun is when it fires, how far each bullet travels, and how likely repeated fire will cause your gun to overheat. The muzzle socket offers up a variety of different suppressors that affect what happens after you pull the trigger. Later in the game, you can even change your ammo type to shoot poison, explosive, and incendiary rounds. For instance, armor-piercing rounds tear through armored opponents while soft-target rounds deal greater damage to unarmored enemies. Ammo socket mods let you change the type of bullets you fire which lets you deal different types of damage. As you scan enemies with your phone, you’ll learn that certain enemies take more damage from specific ammo types.

By crafting new attachment mods, you can change how a gun behaves. Crafting new mods requires a hefty amount of Far Cry 6 gunpowder as well as other resources you must scavenger for.Įach weapon in the game can receive modifications to three different parts of the firearm: the ammo socket, muzzle socket, and optical socket. The key to modifying how each gun performs is crafting attachment mods at a Resolver workbench.
FAR CRY 1 MODS HOW TO
Once you learn how to find gunpowder, you can use that resource and other materials to craft weapon mods and upgrade your arsenal. These stations are located at the bases you set up around the game. While each gun can serve you well as is, you can also modify each firearm to your liking at a Resolver workbench.
